R7 astromech droids were new, state of the art, and notorious for not working well with anything except E-wings. This, naturally, meant that Anakin had to have one for his XJ X-wing back home. He'd been working for months on the programming, tweaking everything to make sure the temperamental unit would integrate seamlessly with his snubfighter's systems, streamlining the programming for maximum efficiency, and generally just making sure that it would perform above and beyond top standards.

He hadn't quite managed it yet, even if what he'd done so far would already make Fiver superior to any other astromech of its class. That still wasn't good enough for him, so he was sitting on his bed, hair falling into his eyes as he bent over his datapad in concentration.

Until his comlink went off, anyway, right in the middle of one particularly frustrating subroutine. He blew out an annoyed breath as he answered the call. "Solo."

"Hello, Anakin."

"Uncle Luke!" Never mind being annoyed now. Admittedly, his eager-puppy excitement wasn't terribly dignified, but Anakin could sense the possibility of something to do. "What is it?"

Luke didn't waste any time cutting to the chase. "I need you back on Yavin right away," he said, and if Anakin didn't have his datapad in one hand and his comlink in the other he'd already be packing. "Admiral Sovv has a request for you."

He'd definitely have something to do: Admiral Sien Sovv was the Supreme Commander of the New Republic Defense Force. "For me?" Anakin's voice didn't crack in his excitement, but it almost did.

"Yes." Luke was as calm as Anakin was eager. "He'd like your help in re-enabling Centerpoint Station."

Anakin left his datapad on the bed and immediately started scrambling to throw a few things into a bag. "I'll go," he said immediately. "I can be on my way in less than a standard hour."

"You're coming straight to the Academy first," Luke replied in the don't-argue-with-me tone that Anakin recognized. He knew his nephew very well, thanks. "You're not going anywhere until we discuss this. Your shuttle should arrive at midnight local time, and don't even think about persuading the pilot to head straight for Corellia."

Anakin sighed. "Okay, fine. I'll see you when I get there."

By the time he ended the call he was packed, dressed to leave, and in a much better mood. He propped the door open, settled back down on his bed with his datapad, and focused on his astromech programming again, though he stopped to leave quick messages for Jaina and his grandfather. (He was perfectly aware of his tendency to run off and get himself into trouble. Someone here should know that wasn't the case this time.) If it meant he finally got to do something instead of cooling his heels in another galaxy, he could wait just a few more hours.

[OOC: Establishy, but door/post open (SP while I get home though).]
