Anakin felt guilty being back here at all, to tell the truth. (Anakin felt guilty about a lot of things, but that had been the status quo for the past couple of years.) He and Tahiri had managed to escape Yavin 4 . . . )

[OOC: Some little bits adapted from Edge of Victory 1: Conquest by Greg Keyes again. Mostly establishy, but can be open before he goes off to class, I guess, why not?]

When Anakin landed his X-Wing he checked his chrono and found out that he had plenty of time to get back to the dorms, grab a shower, and rest before heading out to class. Of course a simple mission to sniff out a spy on Coruscant couldn't have just stayed a simple mission. Of course it couldn't have, and so Anakin and Mara had gone from investigating a single possible covert agent to trying to find out if an entire corporation was in league with the Yuuzhan Vong. Oh, and on top of that they had a missing Jedi apprentice to worry about.

Anakin was never going to tell anyone he was just going on a routine, boring mission again.

So obviously, because of being on Duro instead of in Turkey, he'd ended up missing out on the spring break trip. On the positive side, his entire family was there, and how often did that happen? He wasn't going to complain too much about that. Granted, he was less thrilled that Jaina was there because she'd damaged her vision going extravehicular while on duty with Rogue Squadron, partly because a vision-impaired and out-of-the-action Jaina was not fun to deal with. He'd take that over Jacen's continued refusal to use the Force ever again, though, since he couldn't decide whether he wanted to roll his eyes at his brother or yell at him a lot.

Not to mention that seeing Jacen just tended to remind him of Centerpoint all over again, and he'd go back to brooding about how the decimation of the Hapan fleet was all his fault. At least he'd been too busy to brood about it for long, what with chasing spies, undercover missions with relatives (in all kinds of disguises that hurt his brain), his mother getting kidnapped and tortured again and his brother actually getting over himself long enough to use the Force and rescue her . . .

Oh, and fighting yet another losing battle to save Duro from the Yuuzhan Vong. He'd be brooding over that development a lot more if not for the fact that Yuuzhan Vong Warmaster Tsavong Lah had put out a galaxy-wide announcement that they'd call off the entire invasion if all the Jedi were turned over to him, which had all but guaranteed that Uncle Luke wasn't going to change his mind about sending Anakin back to Fandom in the aftermath of the battle.

It hadn't been a boring break week, but it definitely hadn't been a vacation, either. Too bad Anakin might never learn to be careful what he asked for.

[OOC: Door closed but knockable, post open until he heads off to class. Actually attempting to write up this canon catchup turned out to be a massive amount of fail. D:]

R7 astromech droids were new, state of the art, and notorious for not working well with anything except E-wings. This, naturally, meant that Anakin had to have one for his XJ X-wing back home. He'd been working for months on the programming, tweaking everything to make sure the temperamental unit would integrate seamlessly with his snubfighter's systems, streamlining the programming for maximum efficiency, and generally just making sure that it would perform above and beyond top standards.

He hadn't quite managed it yet, even if what he'd done so far would already make Fiver superior to any other astromech of its class. That still wasn't good enough for him, so he was sitting on his bed, hair falling into his eyes as he bent over his datapad in concentration.

Until his comlink went off, anyway, right in the middle of one particularly frustrating subroutine. He blew out an annoyed breath as he answered the call. )

By the time he ended the call he was packed, dressed to leave, and in a much better mood. He propped the door open, settled back down on his bed with his datapad, and focused on his astromech programming again, though he stopped to leave quick messages for Jaina and his grandfather. (He was perfectly aware of his tendency to run off and get himself into trouble. Someone here should know that wasn't the case this time.) If it meant he finally got to do something instead of cooling his heels in another galaxy, he could wait just a few more hours.

[OOC: Establishy, but door/post open (SP while I get home though).]
